Honoring Patriotism Essay
Honoring Patriotism
Sweat drips down your face as if there was a pouring rain trickling down. You grab the baby as it wails in pain. You then jump out of the burning room just before the whole house is in flames. Once you're out, you look at the parents faces as they burst into joy. You know you could have died any moment in that blazing fire, but you still stayed in hope that you'd be saving someone's life. That feeling you get every single time you know that you've done something good for your country, that's why you went into a burning house. Now fast forward twenty years later. That little baby you've saved has now found the cure to cancer, which is now saving millions of lives. It's something kind of like a domino effect. Now because you've saved that helpless little baby twenty years ago, that little baby is saving millions of lives across the world. And all because of a patriot like you, wanted to risk their life. Patriot's today are very important around the world. They are the people who risk their lives for the people around them. Many people would probably look past that and say, "Wow, patriots are not nearly as important today as they were in 9/11." But truth be told, every patriot should be honored everyday because they don't have to risk their lives for some random strangers like us, and yet, they still do.
In the first place, many people in today's world might not truly know what a patriot is. They might just think that patriots are random people just helping out. But what they should know is that patriots are the people who are true and loyal to their country, and are always risking their life for someone else's. People don't even stop and recognize the importance patriot's have on the world. A great example would be the effect they had on the disaster everyone is still talking about today, September 11th, 2001. When those terrorists crashed their planes into the Twin Towers, everyone was devastated. But the firefighters and policemen helped everybody involved in the 9/11 crash to stay cool and collected. That means everybody that got out of the buildings safely, the families and friends who have lost loved ones, and even the people around the world who experienced this life changing event in history.
Equally important would be all the events making history today. The people in The United States have many issues that we have overcome, but there are still many more that we are in the midst of overcoming each and every day. We have the healthcare issue; many Americans cannot afford their medications or hospital bills. This means they could potentially become even more ill or injured. And finally, the issue with education, here in Pewaukee we might have great schooling, but children in places such as Africa and many other countries with bad poverty aren't so lucky. They don't get their own personal laptops, and most don't even get computers anywhere in their school. Patriot's are the ones that are trying to fix these issues and are doing a very great job in my opinion.
To conclude this, patriots are a very vital thing to every country across the globe. Many people may not think this unless there is some catastrophic event like 9/11 happening. But truth be told, they are the people who keep the country that we call America, a safe and free environment. I feel that patriots should be honored each and every day for all the spectacular things they have done for us. They risk their lives for you, and we should be thankful that anybody would risk the chance of leaving everything they have, for some random stranger.
